Here's an easy drinking, every-day Cabernet Sauvignon. When I first made the decision to buy this wine, I was doubtful as to whether I'd like a Cab at this price point. I was pleasantly surprised, and have purchased Noble Vines 337 Cabernet repeatedly. For the quality/price, this is an awesome buy. And it's a great casual night drinking experience. It's on sale at Wine.com. Buy up!
Here's another Spanish wine. This is a great wine to try. It's a "high point" wine at an under $10 price point. And it's Spanish, from a little known region, which usually delivers much more quality at lesser prices. It's a 100% Tempranillo so it'll be a lighter bodied wine than a Merlot, Cab or Syrah. I would guess this would drink similar to a Pinot, but you'll get a different taste palate than with a Pinot. Anyway...try it. Free shipping too!
Here's a Portuguese wine. This is one I definitely want to buy. I'm always intrigued with Spanish/Portuguese wines because I've seldom been disappointed with them. They are affordable, interesting, flavorful wines. This is one of those. At $14.99 plus shipping, this one definitely calls to me.
...A little about Portugal:
The wines of Portugal are vast in variety of flavors. The Douro wine region claims to be the first wine producing region of the world. There are also large amount of diverse native grape varietals which grow there. And if you talk with those who have traveled there, the people of this country are hospitable, helpful, and friendly. This country is definitely on my bucket list to visit.
Round Pond Cabernet Sauvignon. All I can say is.. "YUM!" If you haven't tried this I recommend you do. Yes, it's a more expensive wine. But well worth every sip. For all you Cab fans who price isn't so much an issue...buy it, try it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
